• Homeowners often want to change the direction or width of the hardwood.  This is only possible by getting a new floor. 2 ¼” strips are the standard oak wood found in households. However, if you want your floor to be more stylish, you may opt for wider planks such as 3 ¼” or 4”or 5”.   
• Parquet hardwood floors are currently out of style and many homeowners want to change to longer strips so that their rooms look larger and nicer. This can be done only by replacing the floor.
• Compared to refinishing a floor, it usually takes less time to replace it. Therefore, replacement can be a better option for people that want shorter installation and less mess. Refinishing hardwood floors can be extremely challenging in a house that already has residents. During the refinishing process, it is important to avoid walking on the floor or having furniture on them.
